چکیده
مفهوم فضا در تئورى و عمل در رشتة معمارى و دیگر رشته هاى طراحى محیط همیشه تحت تأثیر مفاهیم شکل گرفته و برآمده از اندیشة فلسفى و اجتماعى و به اصطلاح مفهوم سازى هاى آن ها بوده است و رشته هاى طراحى محیط همواره وام گیرندة ایده ها و مفاهیم فضایى از فلاسفه و نظریه پردازان علوم مختلف بوده اند و بر آن ها نیز اثر داشته اند. در طول تاریخ اشکال مختلف تفکر و ادراک دو گانه و به روایتى دوانگارى در خصوص فضا به شکل مفاهیم دوگانه اى بر تئورى و عمل معمارى تأثیر گذاشته است. در این مقاله با مطرح کردن برخى از این تقابل ها نتیجه گیرى مى شود که تلقى ها و تعابیر دو گانه از مفهوم فضا در معمارى ناشى از تعابیرى است که دلالت بر فضایى مطلق و انتزاعى و صرفاً کالبدى، به منظور ایجاد محصوریت، دارد. در حالى که فضا خود مفهومى پیچیده و حاصل نسبت ها و ارتباطات و فرایندهاى گوناگون و چندگانگى هاى در هم تنیده و دائماً در حال دگرگونى است و دائماً نیاز به بازنگرى از دیدگاهى جامع و چندگانه و بین رشته اى دارد.

چکیده [English]
The concept of space in environmental design disciplines has evolved in interaction with philosophical and sociological conceptualization. The dichotomy in philosophical thinking has led to definitions of relative and absolute space. Other dualistic concepts of space in architecture include: perceived vs. conceived space; representation of space vs. representational space; physical vs. geographical space or physical vs. social space; virtual vs. real space; static vs. dynamic space, etc. By review of these dichotomies, it is concluded that they all are the result of assuming the space to be an absolute, abstract and physical entity. It is however, suggested that in fact space is a complex relational entity, which is the result of multifaceted interactions and is thus under constant transformation. It is therefore necessary to continuously review and revise its definition through a holistic, multifactorial and multidisciplinary approach.
